Okay, first things first. Are you looking to sync with your iApps or strictly with Palm Desktop?
If you haven't used a Palm device before, I would install the latest version of Palm Desktop for the Mac -- which can be
found here.
I would run the installer and then try to complete a HotSync. You might want to enter a contact into Palm Desktop just to ensure that there's communication.
I believe that Panther installs
iSync. You will need to install the
iSync conduit. This allows you to sync between the iApps and a Palm device - which in this case is the Treo.
Something to consider BEFORE you do an sync using iSync is the
permission fix. Here's a
thread on that topic.
So, to recap:
- Install latest and greatest version of Palm Desktop for mac using link above
- Run the installer and perform a HotSync
- If you need to run the iApps, you should consider using the permission fix. I would probably install the iSync conduit -- and try to enable Palm OS Syncing (you do this via a menu in iSync. If you have trouble, then run the permission fix.
- If all goes well, perform another HotSync. You should see iSync come up and sync your iApps.
Hope this helps. Here are some useful references:
