If you don't care about the carrier and really want or need a pdaphone sooner rather than later (summer 2006) and the Treo 700w is what you want then I would say Verizon is your best choice for getting it now. As for Sprint, tried them didn't like the coverage and yes Verizon costs more but you get what you pay for. Better network coverage and solid equipment. Sprint and Nextel have to work out their phones, build phones that use both systems, oh thats gonna be fun.
