Devices are designed and sent off for testing before some technologies are out and they can't just stop the production and install a new part and start over otherwise we wouldn't see anything. Also its another excuse for a "upgrade" from Palm, you know like the 650 os what the 600 should have been but the 650 still lacks what it should have.
