Coverage again does totally depend on where you are. That does suck that you are having a hard time getting the coverage. I guess EVDO would be even worse?
I've been using Verizon Wireless for over 10 years. It was common knowledge that Verizon had the best coverage and reception, at least here in Southern California.
So I never even second guessed that.
Well, this past weekend, Cingular gave me a phone as a loaner, got a Sprint from a friend, and used my Verizon Wireless phone and drove all over the area that I live in, and where I go on a daily basis. My point was to find dead spots and see which one worked the best.
To my total shock and disbelief, Verizon came out in dead last place! Cingular was clearly the best, then Sprit, then Verizon.
I could not find one location where Cingular had no service, Verizon and Sprint did have places.
So my point is to not listen to all the commercials and what "common" knowledge is, try doing the same test I did where you live. I have been paying a premium all these years to have this so called best coverage when in fact Cingular is much better and cheaper.
So you should see if Sprint and Cingular will lend you a phone to try out.
