got one... live in malibu. works better than every other wireless i've tried. my at&t CONSISTENTLY drops calls all over the pacific coast highway from santa monica to ventura county, but the sprint was connected the entire way, and to my ears actually sounded better. last weekend i drove from san diego to malibu and the phone worked the entire way EXCEPT for near San Onofre. No sprint coverage for about 5-10 miles along the 405 but right after that it worked all the way home with ZERO drops.
as far as wireless web, its pretty fast and appears to stay connected all the time. the blazer browser needs to improve... as i'm certain it will. ultimately evolving into a ie type with ftp, quicktime & some audio. currently having problems with sprint email setup but i was able to get my regular email from mail2pda.com (a free service) and also from a standalone app called pixer. they both work though pixer costs about $40 or so. Pixer also can display small gifs and jpeg... less than 200x200. still cool though.
wants: to be able to use it as a modem for my powerbook or pc laptop via some cable or wireless connection. also we need true mac osx support... itz necessary!!!
keyboard is excellent and makes this thing comepletely loveable. i avoided using the grafitti on my palm 3c as much as possible.
form factor is a little wide overall... getting use to it.
and most of all, the speaker phone sounds incredible on the other end, so i'm told by everyone... good mic and noise reduction. i literally leave it on the passenger seat.
also, aol anywhere for treo. |
