Well, this question is a wide open one, but here goes . . .
With your Treo and a 1 gig card specifically, you can rip movies from DVD and store them to the card. A one gig card could probably hold 4 feature length movies with room for other apps/pictures/etc. How do you download movies to the Treo? Well, its rather lengthy, but lots of tips on software needed, and just how to do it right here.

Of course you have a camera on that Treo, and you can send all the pictures you take to your card. Then you can open them and view them in your Treo. You can email them to friends and family also.
You can also store and launch all those Treo applications from that card. Now there are a lot of ways to do this, but the best way I have found is by purchasing
zLauncher. This is a great program and besides giving you the ability to easily move files between your card and your Treo, it also gives you many themes and looks, allowing you to customize just how your treo functions.
As far as software, I recently laid out my favorite free programs/what they do, and where you can find them. The link is
here
I also have some pretty strong opinions about the best software
I have purchased.
You will have questions, and you have found a great place to get answers!
Go slow on Software installs and consider a utility program such as Resco Back-up. The Treo is an amazing device, but sometimes it just doesn't like some of that software you feed it.
Good Luck and congrats!
