Well I contacted innopocket and they are sending a new clip by airmail. Good and fast response.

My wife got me an innopocket "Magnum Case for Treo 650" about 2-months ago. This is a lined hard case made from a magnesium alloy. Very tough case. I use the belt-clip... until yesterday, when the clip broke at the clip's spring swivel pin. It was not dropped. I did not hit it with a hammer. I don't think it was a manufacturer's defect. The damage probably occurred when getting in/out of my car. I wear the Treo slightly behind my right hip. Maybe it made contact with the seat-belt buckle? Whatever - it broke.

My question - Why would a company make a hard and apparently very durable case and then make its clip out of plastic? The clip gets more of a workout than the case ever will. It is put on and off the belt; it is realeased from the clip several times a day (when ever you need to use the device). These plastic belt clips are the "weak-link". The clip should be a durable as the case!

This is not limited to the above mentioned case either. I also have (and am now using) a leather Piel Frama leather case. This is another very nice case (not as "protective" as a hard case & no cut-out for the camera lens), but it also has a plastic belt clip.

I need something that not only protects my Treo 650, but has no plastic parts and will stand-up to use.

Guess I am venting a little here. Maybe a couple of the case manufacturers will read and heed.
