Informative

I've used GPS on the Treo and had mixed results. I've been meaning to post my review on the site, but I've been very busy.

Here's my experience:
It works great if you have an actual address. If you put Route 94, it will provide you with several choices. I managed to get lost in Chicago pretty quickly. This was my fault -- or a "pilot error". I was on a business trip in San Jose and loaded the San Jose maps. I entered the address of my hotel and then the address of a restaurant downtown. The Treo guided me the whole way with voice commands. I made a wrong turn on the way back and the GPS got me back on track. I've used it locally to known locations and worked flawlessly. On the Treo 600, the screen isn't optimal for a GPS device. If it weren't for the voice commands, it would be difficult to drive and navigate. Too much information, not hi-rez, difficult to use. I'm guessing this would be a non-issue for the Treo 650.

Overall, it's a nice added device for the Treo to make it your personal GPS system. What's great is that you can take it on business trips. It's just a small mouse, a few cables and you'll never get lost.
