According to
this posting at Engadget Mobile, it looks like October will be the month that GSM versions of the 700w & 700p show up for Cingular. It appears that Cingular has either requested a more refined form factor or Palm has decided to remove the external antenna stub. The 'Lennon' model will be the 700w and the 'Nitro' model will be the 700p.
I guess the real question becomes what kind of data capabilities for the 700p model? HSDPA? UMTS? EDGE? GPRS? Recently a Palm executive claimed that it would be a challenge to make a 700p for GSM as HSDPA/UMTS would allow for simultaneous data & voice transmissions, something the Palm OS cannot handle well because of its single-threaded origins (and the same reason Palm GSM devices have yet to support WiFi as an integrated solution).
