I'll second the recommendation on Snappermail.

I've been using it since my Treo 180 and it's awesome. Don't take my opinion though, Walt Mossberg from the Wall Street Journal says it's, "the most cleverest, capable handheld email program he's seen".

Cleverest...and to think he's a journalist.
