are you on EVDO, I take it you are not (Sprint) or on the high speed network on the carrier you use?
EVDo is the fastest, I have been around 660Kbps which will load you average page in about 3-5 seconds. But for instance, Verizons HS network only hits 125Kbps which is 5 times dial up and pages make take 15 seconds to load.
