I do have another option for you though.

I'm a longtime user of TreoAlert. You can set it to replace the carrier name with something that looks like this:

Sig=86% Bat=79% 23MB

And since the bluetooth indicator is on the carrier line anyway, it gives you everything at a glance.

Of course, the main purpose of TreoAlert is to make sure you don't miss calls/emails/SMS. The status is just a bonus option which is selectable as a default view.

It can give a repeating audible or visual alert at set intervals. The visual alert is accomplished through blinking the LED at different rates and different colors for each event, and updating the carrier line. So if I have a missed call and a new SMS, the carrier line will change from what's above to something like:

Email=3 Calls=1 SMS=1

Once the "missed call" notification is dismissed, it clears the queue and drops back to your prechosen default view.

I don't use the sound, but I always know if I missed something if my LED is blinking.

I HIGHLY RECOMMEND. This is functionality the Treo should have had to begin with. You can find it here:

the main reosen for battery status is the cpu increase for me. thanks anyway
