I'm sorry to say, but it sounds like a hardware issue. Possibly a loose or broken connection at the mic?
You can try an upgrade, but I'm not aware of any software issues that would cause an intermittent problem like this so I'm skeptical that it will make a difference.
If it was a recent purchase, I'd either look to get a replacement or refund from the seller. If that's not possible, then you'll most likely be looking at a repair, or using some form of headset for reliable sound input. |
