Numbers appearing on the today screen are Speed Dials. You can make any number a speed dial by setting up the speed dial fields in the contact info. If you have a picture associated with the contact, you can even make it a picture dial on the today screen (kinda like the "fave five").

Not sure if there's a way to keep contact info on a mem card. Not really sure why you'd want to do that as it doesn't eat that much memory. As an example, assuming you had 1000 characters of text for a single contact (probably way less in reality) and it was uncompressed, you'd have to have over 1000 contacts before you even hit 1 meg of storage with no compression. If you're wanting to do it for backup reasons, just sync with outlook. Easier to enter contact info into outlook anyway.

As far as leaving the power cord connected, I don't think that will hurt. Unless having a full battery hurts you.
Thanks for your help.
The very first thing I did once I got my Treo was to upgrade to WM6... thanks to all the posts I read about it (here) I figured it was the prudent route to take.
Seconds after submitting that post, I figured out about the speed dial and using either numbers or pictures, so a huge thanks for that.

Regarding my Contacts question, I was having a brain-fart, so you'll have to excuse me. What I believe I was thinking (at the time) was how much memory my photos and self-made ringtones (about 4MB each) were taking up. I hadn't figured out how to save them to my card. Now that I have, I realize that in order to use them, they must be saved to the system memory.

Either way, I really do appreciate your responses.
Thanks,
Socrates
