Some times carriers change or limit features on phones. I can't imagine verizon doing this. Maybe a verizon user can help you. Maybe repost under carriers (verizon) for help....you said verizon said you should have the option I would go back to the verizon store and verify that another treo 755p has that option then return yours.
Was your phone new? could someone have changed the software? Maybe a hard reset will correct your problem? If you do one be sure to back up or sync to save your data..
