The term 'Mike' is the ability to connect phone to phone not unlike a walkie talkie, but the signal bounces off regular cell towers instead of line-of-site. It curbs cell phone bills, and it's an immediate connection, no dialing, no ring tones, etc. So long as there is a cell tower in range, the Mike capability works well. It is not a microphone, it's an actual form of communication from phone to phone.
