Nothing really on the horizon that could be dubbed a "iPhone killer". I think next up will be the Treo 800w which will run some version of Windows Mobile (hopefully 6.1). The next generation Palm OS isn't scheduled for release until 2009. I think that will be an opportunity for Palm to get back it's much needed swagger.
I see a number of converts over at
EverythingiCafe, after becoming frustrated with "evolutionary" product releases. I sure hope Palm delivers on their promise of releasing a truly revolutionary smartphone in 09'. Afterall, they started the revolution with the Handspring Treo 180.

Hi Chris--do you really think there will be another, newer version of the Palm OS (meaning NOT Windows)? I have been using it since the first Kyocera 6135 all the way to the Treo 755P on Sprint and really don't want to switch to Windows / Outlook in order to get faster (3G / RevA) service, better, faster browser, better camera with Flash(?), GPS, WiFi, etc etc and still have a TOUCH screen and DEDICATED keyboard. If they made it a tad thinner and wider (like the new Blackberries) it would be great as well.
Your thoughts / opinions? Your post was the first I heard of this possibility with the Palm OS.
