If this were as simple as new Treo 700 replacing Treo 650, then it might be an easy decision. However, the new Treo 700W will be running Windows Mobile 5.0 whereas the Palm Treo 650 runs the Palm OS. It's not as cut and dry as waiting for new hardware. The new Windows Mobile Treo will have an optional WiFi card which is a plus.
If you're familiar with the Palm OS, then you might be more comfortable with a Treo 650. Also, I'm going to guess that the new Treo will be more expensive than the 650 (which we offer now around $199 after rebates). Here's an interesting thread that discusses the new

If you're happy with Verizon (and out of contract), then go for the deal that's best for you for the smarphone you want. If that's the 700, then you'll want to go with Verizon because they'll be the exclusive wireless carrier - at least for the first few months.
