Hi, this is how we do it in Europe with Navigator 5.
This is the solution in Europe:
Normally you would use the map of the region where you depart from (eg travel from France to Spain = 2 region-maps). For cross-region navigation you have the following options:
1. you have to switch the maps when you cross the borders,
2. for the European maps there are the plus-maps (the so-called major roads of Europe) for crossborder navigation. So you can use the France map travel into Spain as you can use the Major Roads of Europe. But when you want to navigate to a certain address in Spain, you have to switch maps.
TIP/TRICK:
In this case, you could use the destination map (Spain) instead of France. As you can find the major road in France, you can travel all the way to Spain to a certain address as you have selected the Spain-map and therefor you could type in an address; you start with the region-map of destination instead of region-map of departure. This makes it possible to type in the address you want to navigate to.
I'm not sure for the American-software, but this should be an option, if you have different region-maps installed.
Wouldn't harm to try out, right!
To switch maps go to:
Main Menu->Change Preference->with the arrows go to page 'Preferences 2 of 6 -> select 'Switch Map' -> There you can find all optional maps to select.
Hope this can be usefull for you!
Ciao
