I am able to send and receive with no problem from my Treo 680, but it leaves the outgoing emails in my out box with an error indication. Is anyone else have this issue?

Default Versamail syncs with gmail...for a while

I have two separate gmail accounts and both have done the same thing on my new Palm Treo 755P.

I set up an account and everything is fine for a day or two. Then at some point I'll go to retrieve messages and it will say retrieving 18 new mesages BUT it never adds the new messages. Then what I have to do is set up ANOTHER Gmail account on my Treo (using a new name) and THEN it will download the 18 new messages just fine. This happens every few days!

    Any suggestions?

Default Another VersaMail / Gmail quandry

I have all the setting set as instructed here and elsewhere, but I keep getting the following error:

    "SSL connections are not supported.
Cannot form a network communication object."

If anyone has any insight as to what's going on here, it would be much appreciated!

    Thanks!

Default gmail question and error message

chris, i completed the steps that you gave to get access gmail on my versamail account and it's allowing me to retieve the messages. However, when i try to send a message it gives me the error message that says, "530 5.5.0 authenication required i49sm46757468rne.1"

Any idea why it's telling me that? Also, how do i set it up so that i can receive a text message to my phone immediately upon receiving an email, kind of like my versamail account?

i have it set up so that it forwards me the message to my vesamail account but i want it to come straight from gmail to avoid confusions.

First things first, launch Versamail and go to Account Setup:

Next, name it Gmail or anything else you'd like. Select Other and POP as the protocal.

Enter your full username, so yourname@gmail.com and enter your password.

Enter your email address and the coordinating POP and SMTP settings:

Click on advanced and set incoming server settings:

Next, it will ask you to set outgoing server settings:

Press Done and then Get Mail. That's it. You've successfully set up Gmail using Versamail on your Treo. I haven't tried this with Snappermail, but I'm sure it works using the above settings which by the way are available at Google.

Thanks for replying and I hope you found the tutorial useful!

    Default Gmail Mobile

Well you can download a program to specifically access your Gmail on your phone if you are having problems with Versamail. Go to http://gmail.com/app/ from your phone. It does note that some Treos may not be able to use this application because it requires JMV to run and not all phone have that preinstalled.

On the other hand if you have a Spint Treo there is a free download to access Gmail, Yahoo and other web mail but it does take up over 2Megs of space.

    Hope this helped

I'm wondering if anyone has experienced this or can help me troubleshoot. I've been using Versamail for Gmail access on a 700P Verizon for 6 months now. Was working fine for what I needed, although I manually "get" messages when I need to and don't sync email.

On 2/14, it started missing the most recent messages; ones that were about an hour old. That time lag has increased so that the most recent message I could download today was from 2/15 in the AM, so about 72 hours behind now. I've done the online support from Palm, and got escalated to Voice support. They now say that it's a gmail server issue.

I don't know who to believe, and I don't know how to fix it. Here's what I've tried:
    1. Remove Battery!
    2. Changed the setting for number of days worth of mail to download
    3. Deleted Gmail account and reinstalled it
    4. Changed Gmail settings and ports per screenshot here

    Can anyone help?

    TIA!
    :foot:

I installed the Versamail patch on my Centro from Palm's site. I set up my e-mail account, but when I select Get messages, it says something about "Failed to parse your command [bunch of numbers/letters]" -- any clue?
