So is there any way to get them both on my Express and Treo with out archiving them manually?
Not really. You could set up an alternate gmail address, configure your outlook to check that, and simply have all your mail from the main account forwarded to the other address. There's always a workaround if you really need to have copies of all the messages on both the desktop and the Treo.

Everything in the Pref. looked right, i changed the max size to download to 15kb just in case the emails might have been to big....thanks again guys!
I'm using those exact settings and I keep getting a "SSL Connections are not supported." error message in VersaMail when I test my settings. POP is turned on in gmail too. Any ideas?

Smile may i please have help w/ gmail and the hidden info from this post?

Pretty please with sugar on top!

I tried configuring Versamail to receive gmail from several gmail accounts. I have tried the settings posted here, but the accounts are not consistent in sending and receiving mail (some accounts receive, some send, one is able to send and receive, but this is not consistent across time). Do I need the ESMTP authentication for outgoing mail?

Are there any T-mobile specific settings (I'm using the $19.99 unlimited internet Tmo plan on an unlocked GSM unbranded 650)?

    Thanks all for your help!

    Default Need a little help!

    Hi guys -

I followed all the screen shots and here is the error message I received:

-ERR(SYS/PERM) Your account is not enabled for POP access. Please visit your Gmail settings and enable your account for POP access.

I double-checked what I loaded, and I definitely followed the procedure except for one small item. The Outgoing Server Setting came up with the default Port 25. I left it alone, and I got this error message above. I changed it to port 587 and received the same error message. Where did I go wrong?

    I'm using Sprint.

    Thanks for the assistance.

Thanks for the good info Gang! As a result of this thread I joined the gMail club this evening. I had long ago configured my 3 main accounts, but had heard so much about gMail. Did a search and saw where you could sign up via mobile phone. The mail system seems to be great, but what I really like is how you can customize your homepage with google, and access it from your mobile phone. Email/news/weather to your liking! Very nice mobile feature from google!

Now what would be awesome is for Google to come up with Google Palm top, where it goes out on a basis you determine and updates your Palm with your information.
    *weather
    *Customized news
*famous google search system for your Palm OS
    *gmail

    I'd buy it!

I dont' know because I just configured it myself, but I think I read somewhere around post number 34 or 35, that Sprint needs an outgoing port setting of 465? Check back there as I am sure that someone said sprint required a different outgoing port number, but I can't remember it now . . .

The other thing is that you will have to access gMail and change your settings for POP access.
Once you change the settings there, I think you should be good to go . .

    Default fix for gmail

i tryed all the setting everyone was saying and nothing worked untill i found this.

If you tried configuring your SMTP server on port 465 (with SSL) and port 587 (with TLS), but are still having trouble sending mail, try configuring your SMTP to use port 25 (with SSL).

all i know is mine is working, after i tryed it now so if you still having problem try it.

incomming is 995 and SSL chceked
outgoing is 25 SSL checked ESMTP checked

    good luck

    Default problem

Hi. I'm new to the treo. just got it tonight actually. I got a 650 from verizon (declined on the 700w, because i have a mac, and nothing is syncing them just yet).

I set my versamail just like the tutorial above says, but it gives me this error.

    530.5.7.0 Must issue a
    STARTTLS command
    first 13sm292424wrl

    Any suggestions?

Default Emails only appear on either Treo or Mac Mail

    Hi Everyone,

I need to read all my gmail emails on two places: 1) my palm treo 650 using versamail and 2) on my Mac using Mac Mail.
I have set up everything to work proplerly but I am confounded by the problem that I can't get the same received email to download to both places. The emails only go to one reader or the other, depending on which one got there first.
The emails are definitely still all on the gmail server and all marked as Unread, so I'm wondering now if there is something about Versamail that will make it impossible for me to retrieve emails from gmail that have already been pop/accessed by another email reader.

Is there any work around to this problem?

    Thanks very much.
