Take a deep breath. Versamail works just fine with Gmail. I'll ask again....did you log in to your online Gmail account and enable pop forwarding? Did you select Gmail from the list of available accounts? It's relatively automatic.

Instructions on what I did to make this work, even on the first try.

    On your Treo 650
    1. Click Versamail, Create Accounts on the top bar by accessing Account Setup
    2. Click New, type in Account Name (I used Gmail), on Mail Server select Other
    3. Click Next, type username and password
    4. Click Next, type in Email Address (username@gmail.com)
    5. Incoming Server is pop.gmail.com
    6. Outgoing Server is smtp.gmail.com
    7. Don't Press Done, and Click Advance.
    8. Change Incoming Server Setting: Port number to 995
    9. Check Box on Use Secure Connection (SSL)
    10. Change Outgoing Server Setting: Port number to 465
    11. Check Box on Use Secure Connection (SSL)
    12. Press Done.

    On your Gmail acount
    1. Login to Gmail account, Click Settings (Top Right Near Corner of Page)
    2. Click on Forwarding Pop Link
    3. Select Enable POP for all mail (even mail that's already been downloaded)
or Enable POP only for mail that arrives from now on
    4. Press Save Changes

    On your Treo 650
Press Get Mail on your Gmail account, and your Treo should starting connecting to the Gmail servers.

    Default Trouble with my treo

I have a treo 700P and use the hotsync to access my e-mail. Initailly I used versamail to get my aol e-mail. I tried to switch to gmail, but now it won't get any mail. I follow the settings on this post, but it just doesn't seem to work. Any suggestions?

    Thanks,
    Dave

    Default What about HTML emails?

My versamail won't download the graphics for HTML emails...all it shows is a box with a red X. How do I make it download the graphics? Or does it not do that? Please advise...thanks!

VersaMail only does basic HTML formatting (bold, italic, etc). It does not display inline graphics.

Thanks for the reply, Kreth! Is there a treo email application that would display inline graphics?

I don't believe so. I know Snapper doesn't, and I'm fairly certain Chatter doesn't either.
