Answering Machine

I asked this, sort-of, in the 800w forum but I feel like I should reword it in this category.

Is their an application or software that will let me play a sound clip for my voicemail greeting / answering machine. For a treo 800w for Sprint?

No, it is a carrier function.

But couldn't the PDA just "pick up" the line, then play its greeting, and record the message?

I know that it wouldn't be sent to the normal voicemail box, but it would still work quite well.
