Auto Sync sometimes works...help!?

I have talked to PalmOne and my service provider and no one is helping. I have all the settings done within auto sync including days of the week and times and some days it checks all day and other days it never checks. I can manually click "get" and it will bring in the email no problem but just when I think it is working again the next day it will not auto sync. Anybody have any suggestions or dealt with the same issue? By the way I am using VersaMail.

I have the exact same issue with my treo 650. The auto sync for me usually works well after I hot sync it to my desk top. After several hours, it will usually not auto sync any longer and I need to 'get' my e-mail manually. After I hot sync it again, it usually starts that cycle again.

My provider is Sprint - does that make the difference?

I also would appreciate any insight.

This isn't the answer that either one of you are looking for, but shortly after setting 4 of my email accounts up through Versamail, I started having all kinds of problems. Non-syncs being the least of them! Screen Freezes and Resets, and having to go in and manually delete databases that were corrupt being the biggest pain. Most here use Chatteremail, Snappermail, or Agendus to handle their email from a Treo. Its a shame, that Versamail is there, it doesn't look bad, and offers quite a bit . . . But many have had all kinds of problems with the Versamail application.

Palm has a pretty good troubleshooting guide on Versamail. If you haven't tried there, you might want to check it out . .

It was pretty easy . . . I went with Chatter, but both Snapper and Chatter offer quite a bit in the way of email. Both offer generous trials, so I would encourage you to take advantage of the Trials to see how well you like them! As far as setting them up, I did have a couple of snafus with one account of mine . . . it was working fine, and then all the sudden it quit! I found a blurb on Palm's site about changing the SMTP profile to a cingular specific one and email has been harmonious again! Strange how it worked for weeks without a hitch and then just stopped . . . Something must have changed, and I didn't change it!

I've had the same problem with auto sync'ing with Versamail. I wish I would have read this site before I spent hours staring at my settings and wondering why it wouldn't work. Is Chatter easy to set up?
