Which email client are you using? What's the best for price/performance/features? ;)

I've been using them all in search of the "perfect" email client for the Treo. Right now, I'm partial to Snappermail. While all of the above perform admirably, I find that Snappermail's "treo" features add value not found in the other programs. I would like support for IMAP in a coming version.

Waking up and checking e-mail at specified times/intervals would be good too.

Eudora. Free. Multiple POP accounts. No complaints here.

I like Eudora the best. For the following reasons:
1. It's Free!!
2. Works well with the Treo
3. It's Free!!
4. It syncs up nicely with you desktop mail

I haven't tried snappermail yet so I might change my vote. I have no complaints with Eudora.

i'm on rogers/at&t in canada, and received sms messages are free.
so I have my mail forwarded to my sms email address.

makes the phone beep. then I can read it with a real email client (sms cuts everything off at 128 chars or something)

That's Eudora which I used for a couple years on my 270 and now on my 600. I've never heard of Snappermail though so can't compare the two. Since Eudora is free and works well... I'm not going to try Snappermail right too soon.

One thing Eudora falls short on is screening/filtering messages. From time to time, I get jam-spam and have to got on line to my email providers website to trash the jamming message. It was frustrating the first time and slow the second time but can now be done without too much delay.

Anyone have something that beats Eudora (for free)??

Man, nobody ever tried Chatter? Marc is very responsive.

www. chatteremail.com

I was a Snapper user for like 12 months. Then chatter was on and off my machine for at least 5 times until I finally paid the $32 registration fee. Never regret, even a tiny little bit

For whatever reason, I never tried it. I think I may download it today and give it a test drive. You like it better than Snappermail?

I used to use Snapper, but it somehow lost all my messages, and I've heard others say that it did that for them periodically also.

Chatter has been wonderfully stable and the developer works with users to resolve bugs fairly quickly.

The key to ChatterEmail is that it's geared more towards IMAP, rather than POP. It will still work with POP3, but its behavior with POP reflects the author's orientation towards IMAP. Think more in terms of synchronizing with the server. There's no way in Chatter to delete POP3 messages only on the device.

I was put off by this at first, because I want my main computer to have a record of all my e-mail correspondence, and I don't want the Treo, or the server, to be burdened with thousands of old messages.

But the solution for this is to use IMAP on the Treo and POP3 on the computer, and to set up the Treo to NOT sync with the server. That way, the messages are removed from the server only when downloaded by the computer, and I can get messages on the Treo when I'm away from the computer.

Other people may prefer to keep their Treos synchronized with the server and their PC, using IMAP.

Don
