Default Best Way to Get Scores, Sports Info

Hi to everyone. I'm new to the 650 (I use Cingular). I'm looking for the best way to get up to date sports scores and information. The web browser seems somewhat slow, and I know there are applications out there that can pull info up quickly. (for instance, if I'm looking for a real-time boxscore for a baseball game.)

    Thanks!

    Michael

i'll say it before Chris does: set your browser to treomobile.com. it will provide you with a list of sites that are orented for the smaller screem. there is a link to sports on there and you can get to ESPN and CBs Sportsline from there. happy hunting!

I'm always up for setting up new sports links for us Treo users. If you find a handy sports site for the mobile site, let me know and I'll add it.

    Default off the subject...

I don't know if there is a turf war or anything, but there is a pretty interesting site just blogged about over at blog.treonauts.com: mobile.answers.com. kinda like a Jeeves for handhelds...wouldn't mind a link on treomobile.com

Has anyone used Handmark Express Sports?

Express Sports delivers major league and college schedules, game updates and standings automatically and on-demand to your wireless PDA or smartphone. Select your favorite teams to track and view the details of last night's games.

    - Track full team schedules, weekly conference schedules, standings and polls
    - Currently supports NHL, NBA, MLB, NFL and NCAA Football
    - Choose your favorite teams and conferences to update and track
    - Near-real-time game updates to include previews, scores, box stats and story
    - Configure Express to automatically update sports throughout the day
Costs $20 a year, but I think I may give it a 30 day trial. Curious if anyone has had any exposure to this service.http://express.handmark.com/sports.p...r08_palm_nsltr

I'm not too pleased with CBS Sportsline. They used to offer WAP service to check fantasy baseball stats. This year, it's been discontinued. They of course have a pay application --- but of course it's not available yet. With their fantasy baseball, they usually get it right...but it takes until June/July. I'm guessing I'll be waiting until then for this application. If it gives me live scoring and player updates, then count me in..

Here's a link to the Football Companion. Baseball will be available in September at which time they'll discontinue Baseball Companion.;)

I haven't tried Handmark Express. Looks good if it's fast. Otherwise I'll just use scores from Treomobile.com sports links. (Shameless self promotion):D

The football companion is good but not does not support the Treo! I'm sure the baseball companion won't either

Typical CBS Sportsline. Discontinue a service that works just fine and offer a service/application that doesn't support everyone. A few years back, they made "improvements" to their live scoring that didn't work with Mac users. We're only 5%, but geez...how do you build a site that doesn't work with Macs.

In my experience, CBS sees Blazer and the Treo as a WAP device. I've used Eudora Web to get around this... I haven't used this for years... better search it out. Not even sure if they still make it.

Has anyone tried Handmark Express? There is a trial available in our software store if anyone is interested. I'd be curious to get your feedback. I'm going to give it a trial tonight. From the reviews, it sounds like this might be a good option.
