    Question Better option than SoundRec?

I love the sound quality on Soundrec, but what I'd like to be able to do is open other applications while recording (which Soundrec doesn't seem to allow me to do)...

    does anyone have any recommedations?

    thanks

    Hi:

The Palm operating system does not multitask. It runs one program at a time. Background operations such as alarms do function, but if you open a program any other is closed. However, I must say that I have not used a sound recording program.

That, of course, also assumes you are running a P model.

    Hey Kampos,

I will tell you that I do not know anything about SoundRec but from the name I assume you want to record a call or your surroundings while using another app. I use Call Rec. (google it) and I can record and work on an other app at the same time. Call Rec. either records your phone conversation or works like a voice recorder for meetings, notes and such.

    Good Luck,

    thanks guys...

Target, thanks I'll give it a trial... as far as I know there's no conduit to hotsync to a Mac but I should be able to move files through a card reader...

have you tried mVoice? from what I read it has a built in card reader so I can transfer files to my Mac... any ideas on the difference between the quality of recording?

    Hi Guys,

I have no experience with mVoice or Macs. I do know that with Call Rec you can move the files through a card reader. Also, on my PC the recordings sync to the user folder > CallRec folder as .wav files.

A "while" back I tried mVoice and continued using CallRec and as far as the conduit, I have it turned off due to transfer time - I use Bluetooth exclusively. I manually copy the files via Bluetooth or card reader.

...with a Mac my only option is the manual thing which works really well with a card reader application...

I've tried mvoice and callrec trials and to me soundrec still sounds the best after trying various sound quality settings...

actually I installed a what I think is a more recent version of soundrec and now it doesn't sound as good as it did...oops... is there any way to retrieve the earlier version?

I think I found the most recent version (SoundRec107d-1.prc at infinityball.com) and seems to work really well...

I think I'll use all three apps at this Sunday's church service and see which sounds best to me...

    thanks for all the help...
