Default Documents to Go vs QuickOffice 6.2.3

Edit: 6/20/05 The program I'm concerned about is "Documents to Go" NOT "Data to Go"

I recently upgraded from a Handspring Platinum to the TREO 650. I transferred over "QuickOffice 6.2.3", which works, but I can't use the 5-way button on the cursor. (I haven't check out the other programs in the package). I ran across "Documents to Go", the first week I purchased the 650 but after installing the program, the 650 locked up. I finally had to call PalmOne who eventually walked me through a reformat! I haven't reinstalled "Documents to Go", but it looks the a program has features I'd like to use. Other apps I'm using are "VoiceLauncher", "Findz", and "IntelligentFinder". I also found learned that Cingular's "Xpress Mail" sends the TREO into an automatic reset loop, and you can't power down the system. Only way out is to take the battery out and do a Soft Reset. Cingular's TREO support reps had no explanation but to refer me to PalmOne.

Any advice would be greatly appreciated.

Bob

It sounds like you've got some additional applications on there that didn't originally come from Pa1mOne.

I've loaded up the Docs to Go and haven't had any freezing issues. I also haven't loaded ANY 3rd party or additional software on the device yet.

Doesn't VersaMail come from Palm? Is there a reason why it can't be used on your device. I've found it to be quick and easy and I've come up (with other members' help) to get it to do what I need with my PC based Outlook.

Default VersaMail Works Fine - but not with COX.net

Versamail works fine with CIS 2000 but only half-way with cox.net. I can pickup my messages but am unable to send. My COX address is my primary and it's unfortunate that I can't use it fully with Versamail.

I spoke with one COX broadband tech who said their security set-up won;t allow access to the SMTP server. I was just wondering if anyone else had the same answer, (sometimes these company first level techs don't have all the correct answers).

that makes no sense. Please understand my comment is directed at Cox not at you.

So, is Cox saying that if you are on vacation and have access to an internet connection that is not your own -- maybe in a hotel or at an internet cafe -- that you are unable to get your email?

They've got to have a remote login option for you to be able to get your email. It usually requires the advanced options and passwords.

I agree, it doesn't make much sense. I'm going to call them again and find out how they handle remote access. I do access my Cox mail from the internet, they just don't allow the interface with the telephone. I attempted to set it up as a pop mail account, but that didn't work either with Versamail. Only works if I access via the web access via Cingular.
