It opens and works, but wont connect. Maybe I have something configured wrong?

    Or is it T-zones.
I believe T-zones only works for browsing the web, because it only allows accessing port 80 (default http port for a web server). AIM uses other ports, so that's why I think it doesn't work.

messages sent to and from a PHONE Number will use your Text messages.

Messages sent through a Data Connection through a program such as Toccer/IM+/Verichat use data and you will be charged according to your dataplan.

There is an article in the FAQ section on IMing and programs available for the Treo

I am not a toccer user, but use IM+. For what its worth, I can't see away messages in that one either. . . Only the icon that is represented.

    Default Toccer with TMobileWeb (t-zones)

It's both. T-zones blocks port 80. To configure Toccer to work on T-zones, change the TOC port from 80 to 110.

For those needing more detailed instructions:
    1. Open Toccer
    2. Press the menu button
    3. Select Edit Profiles under Prefs
    4. With your profile name selected, click Edit
    5. Change the value in "TOC Port" to 110
