    Default Gmail blues

    three questions oh wise ones?

    1. have POP set up in gmail preferences but how do i get treo to only download unread messages?

    2. the settings i have on the treo (versamail) seem to work reasonably to do an autodownload of subject only emails (apart from annoyance above!!) but when i come to download the remaining part of the message it takes 4 or 5 attempts with timeout failures. any thoughts?

    3. is there a method of batch downloading the few messages i do want the whole email for rather than individually.

IF the answer to all of this is another email client which FREEWARE/OPENSOURCE is recommended. i say this because i don't have a large data package (in UK) and i don't need email that much that i have to pay even more.

    thanks guys.

I use Versamail for my gmail account and have it set to autosync. It only downloads unread emails. If I have it sync manually it will retrieve everything in the inbox. You can set filters to help. I have filter 1 set to move mail to the inbox if it contains (my gmail address) in the "to" field and filter 2 to move it to the sent folder if the "from" field contains (my gmail address). That works for me....

It is a security setting for the SMTP - see if TLS works instead - that is the setting I am using in ChatterEMail.

I just got my GMail set up in VersaMail. This is the link that helped me. I have a GSM phone and this worked. I hope this helps.

I have been following this thread as well as others and trying out the different suggestions everyone's been giving to get gmail to work the smoothest on my sprint pcs treo 650. I've gotten really close to figuring everything out, and i wanted to add one last account in versamail to check something out, but I was met with this error.

"All accounts are in use. Deleted accounts can be re-used after performing a HotSync. Make sure the VersaMail conduit is turned on and not set to 'Do Nothing' "

I've opened HotSync manager but I do not see the versamail conduit anywhere. I've tried a hard reset and resyncing everything, to no avail.

Help!! How do I clear out the old deleted accounts to free up space for new ones? I've deleted them, but it seems they aren't entirely gone, or their "slots" are still being used or something.

    Any suggestions would be amazing!
