    Question messaging service question

    when i get on aim or msn messanger with another program, does it take up data to be logged on? or is it just when i send and recieve messages? does this differ between software or between coverage plans? i have cellular one btw.

    The major applications are data only, some still allow you to do SMS. SMS is not as reliable as data. Whenever the device communications with the data network, data charges may apply and in some situations, applications must check the status of the data network and that may involve a charge. When sending/receiving a message it hits the data usage dude.

    The best answer is to get an unlimited data plan.
