I had a friend buy volumecare for me before I moved. I just gave him the money and my sd card and he brought it to me with the app installed. He recommended it to me and it helped alot with the poor treo volume (why palmone....grrrrr!!!) anyways he registered using his hotsync id and I need a new code under mine.

Well I have no way of contacting him now and when I emailed them they siad only way I can get new code is if I give them email address of the order and name. I need someone who purchased it to give their name and email and then I can upgrade.....Thanks......

I will share one of my apps with anyone who is gracious enought to help a fellow treo user out......send it to fanookle@yahoo.com

And how would you suggest this person who helps you upgrade their own Treo when the time comes?

That's known as piracy. Suck it up, pay the $19.95 and register it for real this time.

I thought piracy was just tampering with code and cracking software. Thought it was ok to share something I bought without moding it. Well I won't share an app then.

Someone sharing their info with me isn't going to stop them from using it just going to help me upgrade....They will still be able to upgrade......I'm not going to buy it again

If you "share" an app with someone, then one of you is not paying for it. That's piracy.

If the developer generates registration codes from your HotSync id, then once you obtain a reg code, the one they have may not work for an upgrade.
Your story about having a friend purchase it sounds suspicious, to say the least.

Whatever dude.......I give stuff away all the time......to goodwill....freinds and family.....church memebers. So to me, sharing is just fine. I asked them would it affect my friends app and they said as long as a new code is generated under my hotsync he's wouldn't be affected. So since you're a person that doesn't believe in sharing I would appreciate it if you would stay out my thread.....Thanks!!!

Now if there is anyone that really wishes to help...Thanks.......but if you come to say sharing is evil save it.

Maybe you should ask the developer if he/she is fine with you "sharing" the app...
