Palm Commander has decided to allow free download and registration. Its selling its program source code.
Has anyone used this before?

That's a new app to me and a great price! Thanks for the heads up!

Possibly new to others as well so here's the publisher's description:

Palm Commander 3.2: "While you are using one program on your PDA, all the other ones are just sitting in memory without any purpose. It would be nice if programs you are not using right now were somehow compressed. That is what Palm Commander Program Compression does! You can compress some or all of your programs. Palm Commander will keep uncompressed only one of them - the one you are using now.

PREFERENCES EDITOR:Do you know PalmOS has "Registry" ? They call it Preferences Database. Now with Palm Commander you can not only see what programs keep there but get full control on that information.

BUTTON LAUNCHER: Do you know what the best program launcher for the Palm devices is? Of course, it is those four big buttons. You can push one of them and start one of the four programs. You do not need to start any special launcher program for it. The Palm Commander Button Launcher is just an improvement of this great feature. Now you can configure your handheld to launch several programs using the same four buttons. One click - one program, two clicks - another one, three clicks..."

Here's the URL:

The button Launcher is very nice. This is a very feature rich program. At the very least I would try it, since its free now.

Thanks for the heads up and the link. I've downloaded and installed. Now just have to read the manual to see how to use it

WHAT?!? Read the manual? I'll have to report you for that infraction of The Computer Users Code!

---

True story. I was at a friend's and watched him struggle with the installation of a rather easy to install operating system. The shrink wrapped manual was close by so I sarcastically asked if he'd read the installation instructions. He replied, "I have a computer! Why should I have to read the instructions?!?"

There's still an imprint of my chin on his floor as my mouth dropped so fast with that comment. Sad part is that he wasn't trying to be funny.

I tried the button launcher. It works great for the phone and calendar button. But for some reason, the mail button which is assigned to chatter, resets after one time and only chatter remains as the deignated button. The end button stays as the end button always.
But 2 out of 4 isnt bad.
