Desktop software palm on 64bit OS XP Pro machine

Anyone have a suggestion to be able to sync my 64bit OS pc to my Treo?
Perhaps the real problem is the inability for Desktop to load in the 64bit world and Palm's choice to ignore the situation. Suspect the real culprit is desktop is a 16bit program vs even a 32bit which from what I've seen will not load in even the 32bit section of the 64bit OS. I've attempted with no success the suggestion of using WOW32 or what ever it is.

Just run VMWare and get an XP install in that (32 bit XP obviously). VMWare will then grab the Treo when you plug it in and the virtual copy of XP will interface with it. Then you can run that same install in the future if you start using OSX or Vista or something without having to reinstall.
