    Default Realplayer Resets...

Well, after getting a 1gb card, I loaded my first tunes on today. I decided to go ahead and use the Realplayer (I have spent enough on my new toy already this month) just to see how much I like using the Treo for music. I downloaded a new version (1.6.1) and loaded the newest desktop version. Direct connection worked well, download time was OK, but each time I disconnected, the Treo did a soft reset - is that normal?

I am already beginning to understand why people like pTunes - the Realplayer is very limited in how you play/manage songs on the Treo, but it does work and it sounds excellent with my cheap headset.

I have used real very little since owning my Treo. The truth is, I used it quite a bit on my Tungsten E.

I would agree that P-tunes is great!!! It also supports streaming, but living here in the sticks I found it not very reliable. Ptunes is certainly on my list of future software!

But since you have spent too much this month, you might want to check out TCPMP for Palm.

It is a video player but also supports MP-3. When I do listen to MP-3's on my Palm (I actually prefer my MP-3 player) this is what I have been using

You may also want to check out the other alternative mp3 players available from my blog posting on this. I have recently got the 650 so eventually my blog will reflect more on apps for the Treo.

I have long stopped using Real Player and have no intention of doing so.
