Default SMS alert blocking

Is there any standard way to unsubscribe to text message (SMS) alerts? I'm getting automated daily traffic reports for a beltway I don't travel. The SMS number is 6768000000 (Baltimore). I went to vtext.com and setup my account and I'm not subscribed to anything. Tried to add this number for automatic blocking, but it won't take just a number. Called Verizon support and they were not helpful. Tried to reply with "quit", "unsubscribe", etc. with no luck. How does one even identify where the message is coming from? Help!

Well, I don't know about blocking specific numbers, but you can have your provider turn off SMS messaging for your phone all togeather.

There may be other solutions out there for you...

Default Yes, I found the answer

Go to http://vzw.msn.com/Ruhp.aspx. I think this may be the culprit. You may have inadvertently subscribed and forgot about it.
