| SnapperMail and .pdf Attachments I'm finally getting close to figuring this out I installed SnapperMail and PalmPDF onto my RAM. Now I am able to open a .pdf attachment on my computer's email, save it to my hard drive and hotsync it to my SD card. I can then use PalmPDF to FINALLY view it on my phone. YEAH! Here's the question: Is there a way to open the attachment using SnapperMail & PalmPDF and view it on the phone without having to go through my computer? I'm pretty sure I can but I just don't know how to do it. I tried contacting Snappermail directly but haven't gotten a reply yet. |

If so, you should be able to open with PalmPDF. You may have to move the attachment once you save it to the card, or save it directly to the PalmPDF folder on your card.

| When I receive the email via Snappermail it shows the .pdf attachment as: attachmentname (2.6k) <message trunkcated> Tag to receive more Estimated size: 435k
When I click on "tag to receive more" it says: Tagged to receive entire message
I select that then click an attachment name again
I choose "save to memory card"
Then it says: The attachment is only partically downloaded. Are you sure you want to continue?
I clicked "continue" just to see if I can at least read part of the document. I can find the file on the SD card. When I launch PalmPDF, I can't find/access the file.
What am I doing wrong? |

| The next time you connect to grab email, "tag to download" means that Snapper will retrieve the rest of your attachment the next time around. After it's done downloading, you can move to your SD Card. You can set different size thresholds for Snapper. This "feature" is to prevent you from downloading super huge emails/attachments via your Treo. If you decide you want to download, tagging it will allow you to.
Hope this clears it up.
Chris

| Tagging to receive more requires retrieving email again. You can retrieve the entire message directly by selecting Receive More from the Message menu.

It looks like you'll have to move the file to the PalmPDF folder in order for it to view it. Playing around with the PPDF menu, it toesn't look like it will look anywhere but its own default folder.

| It Finally Works It works! Hooray! Life is good! Just in case anyone else is having the same problem, here's what happened. I have 2 email accounts, yahoo plus and gmail. The email/document I've been trying to open was sent to both accounts. Since I have Snappermail through yahoo plus, that's the one I've been trying to open with no luck. When I went on the computer I noticed that the attachment in yahoo plus was named "0605" and the one in gmail was named "0605 HNL FNL.pdf". So I forwarded the gmail email to yahoo plus, used Snappermail to open it, downloaded the attachment, saved to memory card, opened PalmPDF, selected the file, hit "show" and THERE IT WAS!!! Why do you think one email's attachment was .pdf and the other wasn't? It's the same email. Anyway, thanks to all of you who helped me along the way. |
