Default Weather Channel, and what else?

Does anyone know what apps I can get for things like the weather channel, per Verizon's get it now. Like applications?
What other applications can I get that are worth putting on my Treo. I don't want to waist money or time.

You can get the Weather Channel via MobiTV - but I'd read my MobiTV review. It's worth a trial to see the "cool" factor, but beyond that I'm not so sure.

If you're looking for a way to get the weather without bothering with any kind of subscription, you should be able to use your phone's browser to check out web pages. Here's a "for example" link: http://www.weather.com/mobile/wap.html. You should be able to load some weather site into your favorites if all you need is basic weather updates.

About MobiTV, I subscribed to it about a month ago. My Treo's on Sprint. Before I got the Treo, I had SprintTV on my phone. That was definitely not ready for prime time. For the basic subscription (more than MobiTV, by the way), I got about 20% of the content. And constant pauses for buffering, like Chris mentioned when he reviewed MobiTV. With MobiTV, I've watched most of the channels, just to see what was out there, and I've had very few interruptions, when compared to SprintTV. And those I did, I blame on Sprint's wireless reception, which is not great in my area -- though it does work in my house, which is why I'm sticking with them, but I digress. I'm in the military and work long hours and sometimes 7 days a week, often away from "civilization". MobiTV gives me news, sports and entertainment when I have a few free minutes and to me it's money well spent. My 2 cents' worth.

I'm glad to hear you're having luck with MobiTV. I thought it was cool technology, but I had too many issues. It's worth a trial - if you have luck with the service, then it's worth it. It's a good boredom killer for sure. I'd like to see them support the 700w, because I've found no issue with buffering while watching videos on the 700w. To be fair, the size of the videos is much smaller. Let's say they are cheating a bit.
