Default Working Backup application?

The other day I installed Lightwave. Not knowing this would be a problem, I converted an MP3 song to ram, as I thought this would be the only way for it to work. This caused a reset loop due to lack of memory in the treo.
I had to hard reset the device.
I thought I would be ok because I had backup'd with "Backup lite". So I went into that program and clicked on restore device.
Well, this didnt restore everything. I still had to hotsync with my PC to get many of the programs and settings back. Luckilly I had just sync'ed with my PC. I still had to restore some of the registration codes, but now I'm back to normal.

My question is, has anyone used and actually used a backup program to restore their device exactly as it was before?

My only experience has been with BackupMan on a 600, but I was able to successfully do a full restore with it. I've seen people recommend it or Resco Backup for the 650.

Default BackupBuddy VFS

I recommend BackupBuddy VFS wholeheartedly and without reservation. It will revert your Treo to exactly the state in which it was prior to a hard reset, down to the last bit. Solid other features include scheduled backups (eg: "backup at X:00 if not HotSynced in Y days") and incremental restores (eg: "whoops, I just deleted that!"). Available decktop companion apps for Mac or Windoze, but I'm not sure I see the point.
Easy to use and worth every single penny (can you tell it's saved my butt once or twice?). I don't think you'll be disappointed.

Have been using BackupMan for about a year and it saved me some many times (I also like to try different softwares ).

Now, every time I want to try something new, I just make a backup, so I know I can always come back right before I make the changes, no matter what happens.
