Zlauncher installation help - Treo Forums

I can figure out how to install zlauncher I have read the readme but I can figure it out. I have used palmOne Quick Install but what exactally put in there to install. I have tried different way of installing but no go still. I do get the Icon to come up but I get an error. Can someone give me the run down on how to install or direct me to a page other than the zlauncher installation guide. Sorry I'm a newb to this. I just go my treo like 2 days ago. I have got butler to work. Thanks for your help

Which installation method did you use? Try this...go to the download page and save the .prc file to your computer. Drag and drop it to your quick install, then perform a sync. That should do it.

Where are you seeing this icon? On the Treo? Your desktop?

SHoud I be installing it to the memory card or the internal memory. I got the prc file and just installed through the sync program. Should I be installing some themes as well or what.

"No availabel theme for this device! Please install a suitable theme for this device(like ZLT_AquawoodXP_Hi_64k.prc)."
THis is the error message i get

Download to the handheld. Also, download the aquawood hi-res theme you mentioned. There are other themes out there for zlauncher but, if I remember right, that's the default hi-res theme they give you with the download.

My zLauncher just came with "default" theme that was installed with the .prc file. Funny thing about it, once I got used to it, I prefer it!! I have downloaded a couple of themes that I really liked, until I used as a zLauncher theme. But as kdallen said, it sounds like you will need to download the theme with yours. Since you are having problems, download everything to your device, and not to the card. Once installed and functioning on the device, you can move the theme to the card through zLauncer and it will launch from there. Let me know if you like zLauncher or not! I didn't think I needed a launcher program for the Palm, until I tried zlauncher! It was then that I figured out it was a Launcher, a File Manager, an uninstaller all in one! All for a file size much smaller than installing the individual files to give you all the stuff zlauncher gives you!

I completely agree! Zlauncher is one of my favorite apps and one of the best values for the money. The file management is great. I've never had a problem getting rid of trial apps or even purchased ones that I didn't want any more, like some others have had. I couldn't imagine doing without it at this point.

I gonna try it out for a few more days before I decide to buy it but I think it will be a must hav ethe way everybody talks about it in such a good way. We will see I guess. Thanks for the help everybody. Anyother good programs that you can recomend.

I decided to try out zLauncher and installed the trial version on my Treo's RAM. When I tap "all" in the upper right corner, I see double icons for some of my installed apps. Is it supposed to be like that?

For example: MobileWrite
1st icon will say "/palm/launcher/mobilewrite35.po.prc already exists in RAM. Are you sure you want to overwrite it?
If I tap "cancel" it says: mobilewrite will not work from an expansion card. It must be installed on the device using the installation procedure.

2nd icon seems to be the preferences.

As far as I know, I did install MobileWrite on the device.
