    Default Best bluetooth headset?

Wow, what a great site, I wish I would have found this three months ago. At any rate, I am hoping I can get some recommendations for a bluetooth headset for my treo 700p. I have gone through Plantronics 320 & 655 (terrible static on latter), Motoraola 850 (from Costco), couldn't hear too well, another one from Motorola that had the NFL symbols I can't remember the model number.

At any rate, I am quite frustrated, I just want a bluetooth headset that I can hear out of and the people I'm talking to can hear me without static or like I'm in a tunnel.

Any recommendations or suggestions will be quite helpful and most appreciated.

    Cheers,

I'm looking for a reliable headset as well. I've only used the M2500 Plantronics & it's VERY difficult to get to work consistently.

there are several threads here at ET for bluetooth headsets and the 700P just do a search for blue tooth headset 700P its an issue for all treos they seem to have problems with bluetooth One ofg the threads indicated that the 700P was sent out witholder drivers that did not work as well but other models have had similar problems with many different headsets. Good luck and let us know what solution you come up with.

Yeah I saw the thread re: older drivers. You'd think a $500 phone would have current drivers?!?!? Thanks for the reply, I'll check out ET for a recommended headset.

If I may vent: I think what you will find with the Palm Treo is that certain HS work well with Certain Treos. There doesn't seem to be any rhyme or reason. What works for one, is terrible for another. I had a MOTO HS 850 that many here said was terrible, yet it is the only one I found to work well on my 650. FWIW, I now have a 680 and both a low end Plantronics and a low end Moto work GREAT with it. . . . .

The next time I buy, I will go to a place like RadioShack, and pair up several head sets with a friend standing by so that I can judge them . . .

dcpardi your welcome and I agree but we get what we got. And stillrockin thanks for your info as well and your observation seems to be right on. I think its one reason why I have not taken the plunge and biought a bt headset yet.

FINALLY!!! It only took (no exaggeration) 50 pairing attempts to get things done. Now, the headsset only works on incoming calls. I'll keep plugging along, just wanted to share things as they happen.

I went through quite a few including 5 different motorolla headsets then i finally ended up with the sony ericsson HBH-610a. no crackling, no dropped calls, gives me a good 20ft before it starts to crackle and i can answer and hand up using the headset. too bad the 650 didnt do voice dialing (i think it has something to do with it not being BT 1.2)

From what I have read here that Sony Erickson set seems to get good reviews from more people. I am glad it is working out for you. I am still holding off on getting a bt headset.
