    Default Bluetooth answers automatically

I just got a bluetooth headset for my Treo 650. It answers every call automatically, instead of waiting for me to press the call button. I've set the preferences to disable auto answer, but I still have the problem. Anyone have any ideas? Thanks!

Is it one that works with the 650? It may not. I would read up on the headset (internet web page) and see how or if it works with the 650.

"Technically" it is compatible, though I have read here that some people have had problems of various kinds. I also have read that some have the same problem as me (auto answering), but unfortunately I haven't seen a solution yet.

Sure. It's the Motorola H700 Bluetooth and I've paired it with the 650.

    Hi jjmom:

Bad news for the H700...Seems to be a lot of users experiencing a variety of problems. Most essentially don't seem to work. As a matter of fact, the thread after yours is about the same thing:
    http://www.everythingtreo.com/forum/...tion-6881.html

HOWEVER...It doesn't mean that no one has been able to get it working. Do a search of this board as well as the Treo650 board using H700 as the term and you will find a bunch of comments and stories.

    Good luck,
    SteveTaz

Have you tried going into prefs/Hands-free and turning off "always route call to hands free"?

On my Treo 650, there is no "always route call to hands free". I just have prefs/hands-free/disable, immediately, after 1 ring, or after 2 rings. And I still want calls routed to my bluetooth anyways. I just want to have the choice whether or not to answer the call. My Treo 650 is from Cingular so maybe that's why I don't have that routing feature...

I think that some users would uninstall there devices then reinstall them as a car kit and it would cure the auto answer problem.
