    Default Bluetooth headphones vs. headsets

Obviously a lot of people really like Bluetooth headsets.

But I was wondering what people think about the headPHONES (meaning they have a strap that goes on top or behind your head, and are worn outside of both ears.)

I've got the Plantronics Pulsar 590E, and to me these are fabulous. Because of them I use my phone as my music player.

Which leads me to my real point- ALL phones should support Bluetooth stereo audio- which I fully expect the PRE to do.

Anyone else a Bluetooth headphone fan?

Hi Karl. I'm totally with you on this one. Bluetooth headphones are a great accessory to use for the multimedia functions of the phone. I hate dealing with a dangling headphone wire when I'm working out, doing yard work, etc. Bluetooth is a good answer.

By the way, Palm has confirmed that the Pre will support full STEREO bluetooth, so we should be totally good to go in the headphone department.

I love bluetooth headsets, but does the "full stereo bluetooth" unclude music streaming? Because i've had phones that don't support music streaming through bluetooth so the headphones are useless for music.

I do know that the bluetooth connection is going to be a "stereo bluetooth 2.1" connection. And I would assume that stereo bluetooth would apply to music streaming, mostly because I can't think of any other good reason why you would want a stereo bluetooth connection. If, for some reason, they didn't support music streaming via the stereo bluetooth connection, can you think of any other way you'd use a STEREO connection like that?

I have the Motorola headphones and they are nearly useless. NO battery life, drops bluetooth connectability between music and calls...just a general disappointment. If anyone finds a good set, I'm all ears:wink:!

I have an app that turns my Centro into a stereo device (well worth the money, IMHO), but without decent headphones, it's useless too!

I use an app on my Centro to make it a bluetooth stereo device which it is not out of the box; an oversight I'm aware they have corrected on the Pre. I would not recommend Motorola sport version.

I've got the Motorokr S9-HD ...love them!!! 6 hours of battery life is good but wish it was 12 like the bigger ones....but i like smaller so 6 works for me. I use music players, pandora and streaming links from web....all work nicely.

I recently got the the Motorola S805. The bluetootht profile you are looking for that deals with stereo headphones is called "A2DP". "AVRCP" is to use your bluetooth devices controls to control features like play, pause forward and next functions without touching your phone. "HFP" deals with call management . The S805 works with the Pre and supports all those profiles. You get 17 hours of play per charge, and they are the over the head "DJ" style with padded ear cups (very comfortable). Pairing was easy and it works with pandora and the default music player. $28 from newegg.com + S&H.
