Default Bluetooth Hotsync failure

My treo 650 and my HP L2000 laptop used to hotsync without any problem. Now that I downloaded the most recent Cingular update (I think that is the cause), I cannot use bluetooth to hotsync. I've had Palm's level 2 tech suppport go spend two hours to do all types of configuration and finally tell me that something is wrong with the bluetooth on my laptop. My bluetooth headset seems to work fine. HP tech support really doesn't seem to know what it going on and has not been able to provide any decent amount of support.

Anyone have a similar situation where the hotsync seems to simply stop working. Please Help.

Have tried deleting the trusted device (your pc id) from your treo and then start over with the hot sync set up?

Yes tried it. I keep getting an error message saying that the com port is in use by another applicaion. But there is no other application using com6.

Any thoughts?

IS your laptop already paired with you pc and set on your treo as a trusted device?
Try simply doing a soft reset and then a bt hot sync.

Default A different kind of bluetooth hotsync failure

I have a new 650 from Verizon and hotsync is fine with the cable, but when I try to use bluetooth, the connection always seems to get lost somewhere in the middle of the process. I also get the port in use message as the reason in the log, but I think it always says that no matter what the problem. I can't figure out why it fails, because it always seems so hopeful at the start, with the two devices (my system is a ThinkPad T43, also pretty new) recognizing each other and making encouraging noises. Then in the middle of synchronizing something (it's almost always something different), the transfer slows down, stops, and then fails. Any ideas?

Yes, the treo is already paired as a trusted device. And I've already done the soft reboot with no success.

Default Same problem

I have a new 700w and it works fine with the cable. But when I installed bluetooth Active Sync can not find the device. This is the same as Hotsync not finding the device. I have paired and to no avail regarding syncing.
