Default Bluetooth in car

Hi
I am new to your forum, but I will do my best to use it properly.
I have just bought a new car with bluetooth. (Acura MDX). I know nothing about this. My contract for my Cingular cell phone is up, so I want to upgrade to a phone with bluetooth. The Treo 650 seems absolutely wonderful. I have been reading the forums and am a bit concerned about the bluetooth capability. Does anyone have any complaints/praise about the bluetooth connection in a vehicle? I will need it to be on all the time I am driving, so I can take and make calls handsfree. Thanks for your help.

Congratulations on the new car. Check out this thread on Treo 650 Bluetooth and an Acura car.

The long and short of it is that the Treo 650 does work with the Acura -- the extent of the features I'm not sure.

a snippet from the thread...I have a 2005 Acura TL - and love it. The 650 (Verizon enabled) sync worked right out of the box and performs well with Caller ID, etc.

Default Antenna helps in low areas

I use the Treo 650 extensively in the car. Treo keeps good signal connection in Raleigh area. It will drop out (even near cell site) in especially low areas, like other phones. I added a 5db antenna and adapted it to Treo antenna jack on top rear of phone. Adds one bar, which is the difference between talk and no-talk. I have also used a CellPhone Mate CM1000 to add another bar in problem areas.

More to the point of your question, I use Bluetooth for headset effectively in Xterra, but this is not built in.

Default Bluetooth use in car

Just wanted to mention I've not had great luck with volume levels while driving using my Jabra 250 Bluetooth headset. Its loud enough at the office and home, but in the car the engine noise drowns out the incoming sound. So, I resort to a wired bud which is fine. I'm thinking the more expensive Bluetooth headsets would be a solution, if it mattered to me.
Anyone else experienced this?

I have the 700w and purchased a 'Supertooth II' speaker box for my truck, about $100 and it works great. It stinks that the Treo does not have the voice dial my V710 phone had.
