The Sony has caller ID, but I've yet to understand when that would be useful unless you keep the unit covered and hang the headset on your neck or such.
At first, I was in agreement with you on the usefulness of this feature. I'm now thinking it might be a useful feature. With the headset, that becomes the device you "pick up". So, for instance, your Treo is in your laptop case and the Bluetooth headset is sitting in your frontseat -- phone call comes in and you're able to see who's calling before picking up.
That's how I forsee it being useful. I need a new Bluetooth headset for my Treo 650 and I'm leaning towards the Sony HBH-660. It might be overkill, but I think the look/features would complement the Treo. That, plus I trust millerhifi's recommendations.

But no call waiting...

The headset doesn't support all features as the Palm's does... this is my dilemma.

I opted for the Sony Ericsson HBH-660. I'll let you know my thoughts either on the forum or in the form of a review on the site.

Bluetooth Headset & Treo 650
I have tried 4 headsets;
1) Motorola Bluetooth HS820
2) Motorola Bluetooth Hs850
Both had poorreception and didn't work as the handsfree application should with this phone.
3) Jabar BT 200
Same as above.
4) Cardo Scala 500. This is the best I have found. The applications work as described BUT though better reception, it is still a little wanting.
I beleive that the poor reception is more of a phone issue due to all 4 headsets suffer similiar issues- scratch when you aren't within 2 feet of the phone. The Scala is best, I am able to walk about 10 feet away.
As for the volume, the Scala wins hands down. I had suffered volume issues with the others - non with this.
Price is attractive too, I paid $58 with a car charger included.
Good Luck, and let me know if you find something better

Sony Ericsson HBH-660 Akono Bluetooth Headset Review
Hey guys-
Just completed a review of the HBH-660.
Here's the short version:
Pros:
Caller ID function allows you to screen calls without having your Treo in hand
Very slight delay in ringing between Treo and headset
Feature set allows for caller control from the headset
Comfortable and light
Quick, easy set-up with the Treo 650
Crystal clear voice quality
Included strap is handy
Cons:
Expensive when compared to other Bluetooth headsets
Caller ID does not display caller name
Could be louder in loud, outdoor areas
Removing strap plug is awkward.
Voice commands not supported with Treo 650 (note: this is more of a Treo 650 issue, rather than the headset. No headsets allow for voice commands on the Treo 650)

Full Feature Set? Call Waiting? Redial? On Hold?
I really want to know if it is only the Palm One headset that supports all features (as per their site) or if the Sony somehow supports these features as well.

Sony does not support all the features -- such as Call Waiting -- which the palmOne Headset does support.

So no call waiting and no redial as per the info in the ET store...
I guess now it's time to decide if caller id is more or less valuable than being able to redial and/or flash to another call without taking the Treo out of my pocket.
I wish I could find one user who has used both since I can't try them out myself.

I'm sure you can get some feedback here on the PalmOne Headset here. I haven't had a chance to test it, but it does have the most robust feature set (other than Caller ID). As noted in my review, the Sony will not display the Caller name -- just the number. Personally, I've found this to be a useful feature.

Caller Id
I keep the Treo in my pocket. Pardon me for not being able to visualize this, but do you think if I have the Sony headset in my pocket as well (on my head would of course negate the value of the feature) it would be easier to look at that caller id and leave the Treo in my pocket vs. look at the Treo put on the headset and be able to flash to another call via the headset or redail if I'm disconnected. I'm so stuck deciding which is an advantage (as I haven't heard any other differences other than some people say the Sony is more stylish)
