Upon further reflection, I decided to open up the J250v. It's listed in "Trusted Devices" so it pairs easier but I've discovered another disadvantage: I used a J200 with my K7135 for 3 years. The J200 didn't go on standby until I disconnected the adapter from the K7135. Anytime I received a call, I heard "Incoming Call. Answer?" I would say "Yes" and the call was there. I touched nothing. When the call was over, the other party disconnected the call, I had to touch nothing. Now, inexplicably, the J250 and J250v go into standby by themselves; a call comes in, I have to pick up the phone, answer it, and then press the button on the Jabra to transfer the audio to it. Same when making a call. Either I'm a boob and not following the instructions or I've just taken one step forward and two step backwards with the T650. I'd rather know that I'm a boob so please comment.

My BT250V is a little slow to transfer calls from T650 to the headset, but after a couple seconds it will automatically transfer itself.

To answer a call from my headset (BT250V) without picking up the phone, I have to press the answer button on the headset twice (for some reason) after a couple seconds, it connects and its fine. After a while of getting the timing down you'll start to recognize what it takes. Still frustrating a bit.

I can also make a call from the Treo and the headset will connect automatically (after a couple seconds, but usually before the first ring starts, so I know whats going on) Again...timing.

I do know what you are talking about in regards to hitting the button on both devices. I think the problem is that you can turn the headset on standby, and force yourself to engage the BT connection by hitting the button on the headset as well. Once you've got a bluetooth connection, try just starting and ending calls on the TREO ONLY. I found this always will engage my headset on every call automatically. If you continue to hit both the buttons on the headset and TREO, you will keep engaging the standby. Just hit the one (TREO only for now) and you should be fine. If you notice your bluetooth icon on your screen, an engaged connection is a rectangle, a standby is an oval. Look at when you make the call and you should have the rectangle. When you are not on the call the oval one will appear. Once connected, the headset icon will appear.

I found the BT250V the most comfortable, loudest, most clear out there. The only problem is the 30 ft nonsense, which I really think is a TREO thing. I have a buddy who has the same headset, different phone, he can literally be in the conference room talking on the headset, while his phone is in his office down the hall and it'll be crystal clear. Jealous....

Your post is helpful but I still miss the "Incoming Call. Answer?" feature on my non-BT K7135. I remember 3 years ago having to get the timing correctly when I got my first Jabra. Their books are really not complete; there are nuances that you have to figure out by themselves. I'll stick with the J250v until someone here says they have something better in the ease of use department. Hopefully someone will write a hack that will allow voice commands through the headset. Just "Yes" and "No would be an improvement. (I'm still looking for the hack that prevents the screen from going off.)

Whoa. I may have made a rush to judgment on this "one step forward, two steps backward" thing. This morning I set Preferences > Communication > Handsfree to answer Immediately. I received a call, my J250v started vibrating and before I did anything, I could hear the caller through the headset. The T650 didn't ring. Being tied up all day I didn't receive any other calls to see it repeat but if this is the way it's supposed to work, it's much better than the J200. When I get that nailed, I'll start working on sending with the Voice Tags.

Need Help BT Headsets

You didn't mention what service provider you have. I just downloaded the Cingular 1.5 update and it screwed up my Bluetooth compatibility with the Sony Erickson HBH-660 (maybe all headsets) which was supported previously and worked great. Since the update installation it doesn't work at all.

I've read in other forums that I'm not the only one. You should wait until this mess is cleared up before you invest in a headset.

I have the same headset and also upgraded to Cingular 1.15. You have to pair the device again. Go to Bluetooth and Hands Free Set Up - Add Device. Here's the key, hold both the volume buttons at the same time. That did it for me. Paired perfectly and works great.

My provider is Verizon and my J250v is working like a charm. In and out, day or night, am or fm. Would only switch if I found one that paired easier.

sbynyc,
The auto answer is an awesome feature. My Jabra 250v picks up calls like a charm. I love it. I don't have to do anything, just wait for the callers voice to come over the headset after it vibrates. I found the vibrating feature to be nice in quiet environments like movies and meetings. I turn off the sound on my phone and the headset vibrates to let me know a call is coming in, and the sound is so good, all I have to do is whisper "hello" and people can hear me.
I just wish I could walk more than 3 feet from my phone before it gets too much static. But I think this is a Treo issue, not a Jabra issue. The only headset I've had good distance on is the Plantronics Voyager 510...about 20 feet.
The ones I've used with a poor distance of 1-3 feet: Plantronics 2500, Jabra 250v, and Motorola HS850.

Default Bluetooth headsets - Treo 650

It didn't occur to me that there was a compatibility issue when I bought my Treo 650. I just saw the Jabra BT800 online and figure it would be cool. Well, I guess it is going to stay cool (as in, never warmed-up). According to PalmOne and Jabra, it "isn't compatible" with the Treo 650...
I'm still not exactly sure what that means -- as in won't work at all? or I just can't exploit the features of the headset? No one seems to specify the level of incompatibility.
I should have figured that Bluetooth would be as big a standards mess as everything else

I did go with PalmOne's recommendation on a bluetooth USB adapter (Belkin F8T001) though, and this turned out to be an even bigger mistake!

I got two of them. Went through all the pain -- downloading new drivers, testing on 4 computers, USB 2.0 & 1.1, called tech support, re-booted dozens of times.

Outcome: Belkin tech support declared both units defective. WOW 100% defect rate! Good recommendation PalmOne!!

If you were considering the merits of slamming your head into a brick wall, just buy a Belkin F8T001!!! It will take longer, hurt more and won't damage anyone's property.

As I posted on another forum...Since I love the look and design of the Jabra 250v, I think I will purchase the Jabra BT500 when it comes out (supposed to be soon). It is supposed to address issues like better distance, and simpler buttons, and weigh slightly less while maintaining the same basic design. I'll have to wait and see. Here's a picture:
