| Here is my input I started off with the Logitech Mobile Freedom. I can say I had no real complaints except the delay to talk once I answere the phone. Sound quality and volume was good.
I tried the Motorola line and hated them.
I just bought the new Plantronics Voyager™ 510 and I got to say it works GREAT!. It fits, sound, and volume is great. I do not get any static, and the people on the other end have no complaints. Better than expected. The charge and talk time is also very good. I have to say for less than $80 retail, it is a great buy. Try it and see for yourself.
I am currently tring the Jabra 250V to see if the hype is all that. I have to say, it seems to be a good headset. It is comfertable. Volume is ok. However, I do get static.
If you are going to buy a new BT headset, I would look at the Voyager 510.
For the people that have the Jabra 250v, it is ok, but I realy think the Voyager has one on it. |

| moto 850 and voice tags anyone get voice tags to work with a verizon 650 and a moto BT 850?
btw, I am new here and I am beside myself that any BT headset wouldn't work with any phone. That is just plain dumb.
anyway, my verizon 650 says I must use the headset to record my voice tags (to auto dial someone) which makes sense, but how do I do this with a Moto 850 headset? all the headset would be doing is transfering the voice to the phone and the phone would do the work. I can't imagine "supporting voice tags" is something a headset would have to "support". If so, there a bunch of project managers who need to be sacked at once.
Verizon, who seems to have slightly more common sense than Sprint (who I just switched from) have no clue about the 650 and the moto 850 (which they sold me, yet know nothing about), said that verizon "might" have turned off the voice tags feature. I dont believe that as the software in thr 650 indicates it can and must be setup through the headset.
So is it that my moto 850 doesn't have a "record button"? Can I set this up through the wired headset that came with the 650, then initiate the dial by voice through the moto 850? do I just need one of the other bt headsets? has anyone been able to do dial by voice with a moto 850?
thanks! |

Karen | Karen,
I use the Jabra 250. It comes with a variety of adapters for different size ear canals... It has volume control built onto the headset as well... I love this headset.
Good luck,

| bad palmone, good tekkeon I had a palmone treo wireless headset for my unlocked 650 for a week. The first few days it worked fine. My only complaint was that it didn't fit well at first until I realized I could bend the ear clip for a perfect fit. However, then it was even harder to get it over my ear.
Then, as soon as I had gotten used to putting it on, swapping ears, and working the button (hold 2 sec for redial, 3 sec for mute, etc.), the mic volume gave out. Everyone I talked to said they couldn't hear me very well anymore. I looked into volume hack software, but none have the feature to boost BT mic volume yet. I believe Jeff with GoTreo is working on it. I called Palm and they recommended exchanging it for a new one.
I decided to return the palmone wireless headset for the Tekkon ezTalker mini. I've heard nothing but good reviews for this sucker, and I'm excited about getting it. It should arrive in the mail next week. One feature that I like is that since it's so small, you don't even need to use the ear clip and you can just plug it in your ear like a wired earpiece. I don't think it supports all the features that the button on the treo wireless headset did, but I don't really use those that often.
I also considered getting the Sony-E, but I didn't like how the caller ID gave the phone number instead of a name. It also doesn't display the entire phone number as it has to scroll the last few digits. I also considered the Logitech because of its wind stop technology, but then I realized that almost every other company claimed to have some sort of wind cancellation technology.
So I'll let y'all know what I think of the Tekkeon after a few days of using it. Until then, happy Treoing. |

| bad palmone, bad tekkeon so i finally received the tekkeon eztalker mini in the mail. boy am i disappointed. first of all, i actually got two of them. i ordered one from buy.com, and it the status never changed to shipped, so i decided to cancel it and order it from shop4tech.com, which had it at the same price including 2 day air. well, yesterday i came home and there was buy.com's order waiting for me at the door! i never even received a tracking number! so at this point, i've got one eztalker in my hands and one on the way in a plane somewhere. i was a little sad because that meant i had to pay the shipping fee for the second one to return it. well, lucky me, the one from buy.com was defective, which meant i could return it back for a full refund and wait for the other one.
so what was the defect? the volume up button (+) didn't depress. whenever i pushed it, it didn't pop back out unless i pushed the volume down button (-), which totally defeated my efforts of increasing the volume. that wouldn't have been so bad if it weren't for one of the features that gets activated when you hold the volume up button! so not only could i not increase the volume, but also it would transfer my call back to the treo when i didn't want it to.
so i filed a return with buy.com and meanwhile waited for the other eztalker to arrive from shop4tech.com, which it did today, again with a defective volume up button. how lame is that?
well, i just got done filing a return with shop4tech.com, and i am going to call tekkeon now.

| good tekkeon so i called tekkeon, and their customer service was excellent. they gave me their UPS account number to charge the shipping to return one of my headsets directly to their office. they'll check out the problem and ship me one that they've tested that works.
i was able to play with the headset before i packed it back up in the box, and as far as i could tell, all the other features worked flawlessly. as i stated earlier, the volume was loud and the voice quality was crystal clear. it comes with a piece of felt (and five replacement pieces) that you can stick over the mic opening to block the wind. i didn't get to test that out, but i'm sure it helps for those that need it. finally, the best thing about the eztalker, as i mentioned earlier, is that it's so small you can plug it in your ear without having to use the (detachable) ear clip.
i'm looking forward to receiving my replacement in about a week, and i'll be sure to post again. until then, happy treoing. |

| Treo 650 Palm Headset My vote is for the Palm 650 BT Headset, as it does not require you to carry a separate power adapter for it. |

| I don't see people using Plantronics... Hello,
I noticed everybody using other BT headsets other than plantronics. Are they not as good as the others? Apparently, it appears the the Sony is the most successful headsets in this forum.
I recently bought a Plantronics M2500, mediocre to say the least. Is it normal that it takes 4+ seconds for the Treo 650 to recognize a call and for the BT headset to retrieve it? I have missed calls because of the huge delay.
I would appreciate any input and/or adjustments, recommendations on what to do. I may need a better headset. Has anybody used or heard on the new Plantronics Discovery Headset? It's very small and can be used without an earloop...just wanted other opinions...
Thanks!!! |
