    Informative SONY DR-BT1 Bluetooth Headset

I recently purchased a SONY DR-BT1 bluetooth headset, you know, the one with the funny looking boom mic.
I have learned from using headsets (non bluetooth) that if I don't have a boom mic, I cannot be heard.

Therefore, I originally tired the Motorola HS850, wich it didn't work very well with my phone and I couldnt hear out of it very well, but I liked how the boom folded.

The SONY seems a little more awkward, but the boom is really soft and flexible, so it isnt any more awkward to carry than the folding one. It also has an in-the-ear speaker, so its REALLY easy to hear out of! This aspect is very important to be because Im a little hard of hearing. What? Huh? It also helps to keep the headset secure on your ear as opposed to nearly falling off while preforming high-speed maneuvers such as turning your head to look at something, and the ever treacherous bend-over-to-grab-something-maneuver.

I have only had this headset for about a week, and recently had to update my TREO 650 software, but even before the update it worked great. I was worried for a little while because I got horrible reception and dropped quite a few calls, but learned with the software update that it was the phone and not the headset.

Ill try to update if there are any changes in my opinion of this headset, and Ill look forward to what all of you have to say about it as well!

I look forward to hearing more about this headset. This is the first I've seen of it. How big is it compared to the HS-850? I'm surprised it's Sony branded, rather than Sony-Ericsson? Keep us updated...

Size comparison is close--overall length is greater with the SONY, but the Motorola has more girth.

You'll see below how they compair. Also, Ive included a closer view of the earpiece so everyone can see how it fits into the ear. I was disappointed at first when I saw that the earpiece was like this, but only because I had an around the neck headset before and it sat in my ear in a manner that made the boom mic stick up in the air. Which leads to another major benefit of this headset; the earpiece pivots so the boom can be positioned on the face where the wearer would actually WANT it to be, while still allowing the earpiece to fit comfortably in the ear. The loop that goes around the ear can also be moulded slightly to conform to your ear better, and 2 sizes are included.

If you can't already tell, I am MORE than happy with this device, and Im usually really damn picky!
