    Default Treo 650 and HS850

A quick question. I have a Treo 650 with a Motorola HS850 Bluetooth headset. On incoming calls, am I supposed to hear the ringing thru the headset? The thing is, I cannot. However, I can answer calls and hear calls fine. Is there a setting I need to alter in the Treo 650 so that the phone will ring in the headset? Thanks.

I don't on my Bluespoon Ax. When I had a Motorola non-smart phone with Cingular, I heard the phone ring in the ear piece. But, with both of the bluetooth earpieces I've had with the Treo, I don't.

Will I be happier with a Treo 650 than my old Palm Vx?

Default How do I answer via the HS850

I just set up my HS850 and haven't figured out how to answer incoming calls via the headset. The only way I've been able to use the headset is to answer calls via the phone and then turn on the speakerphone. Is there a way to set it up so that I don't have to go thru those steps?

    Craig-
Have you paired the Motorola to the Treo:
" With the boom closed, press and hold the talk button for 3 seconds until the headset indicator turns on. Now open the headset boom.

On your Treo, click on the Bluetooth icon in the top left corner of the screen. Then click on Setup Devices, then Hands-free setup, then next, then wait until the headset appears. Click on the headset and when prompted enter the passkey 0000."

    Answering calls via the headset:
If the headset is in a closed position, flip it open and wait for the headset to ring (could be several seconds after the flip), then push the talk button on the headset to answer the call.

    Hope this helps...

Thanks for the response. I did pair the devices. I'm able to use the headset w/my Treo. I just haven't been able to use it w/o first answering a call via the Treo and then turning on the speakerphone. Any ideas?

I did a little research, but found nothing conclusive. Try calling your Treo and waiting a few rings -- see if your HS-850 allows you to pick up.
